Reported?Forgive me if this vent session violates any policy, but I am seriously pissed off that an image of my custom-made Eureka 7 DVD labels were removed with such force and without notice. I don't think too highly at the moment of whoever decided to delete a highly-favorite-ed piece of work.
I'm in contact with whatever passes for DeviantArt High Command, and pose to readers questions I pose to them- is the inclusion of other images so bad? They were rather highly modified, not unlike many vectored images I have seen around the site, some posted by yours truly. Was it the inclusion of the show's logo? I've seen other 'copyrighted' logos and designs incorporated into other people's works, some of my own included. Hell, its hard to hide the logos in some of my GT4 screenshots.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but making an image in Photoshop takes similar creativity as to drawing a picture of one's favorite character. The tools may be different, but the effort is still there in some form.
Again, sorry to those in charge if I shouldn't even be putting this in my journal. It just really peeves me to see what I consider a personal achievement taken off my site. For all I know, the person reporting them may have thought the image was a scan of the real DVDs, and the whole thing will work out in my favor.

Haven't you ever wondered what it's like to tear the wings off those social 'butterflies' in high school. It's quite invigorating.

Again, same goes for your "custom" DVD covers. I don't know how they looked but if they are what I think they are then the report was righteous. And the staff (despite of every other individual who has been reported saying, that they are a bunch of .... yeah) are actually doing their job.
And the reason why "not unlike many vectored images I have seen around the site, some posted by yours truly." haven't been reported and deleted at the same time, is maybe because the one who saw your deleted piece didn't bother to check on the rest of your gallery.
Cheers anyway. Make some more original art, or even some fanart, but don't take a picture and draw thru it. That ain't you doing it. That's you doing something someone already made.
But you wanna tell me it doesn't take a good bit of work to A: get into Magtheridon's Lair, and B: Set up a half-decent angle and take that picture while in combat? It takes weeks to learn a raid- this I know from many painful wipes on the Void Reaver. And that image was for illustrative purposes- my two-chapter dramatization on the Magtheridon fight. However hard I try, it can be hard to describe in words what this battle looks like.
I only put it in 3D art because I couldn't find a more fitting category.
And you want original art? Go ahead and take a look at my gallery. Plenty in there that fits your description. Plenty in there that doesn't. To each his own.

As for the image being reported, the guy below seems to have the exact personality I would expect to do something like this. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he DID do it. He has some points, but I think I've countered him nicely on others.
Still working it out with High Command, tho. We'll see...

Because while there is effort by the definition of the word, I find it cheating in a public game to post something like that. Poser and fanfic/service/tits and panties stuff have their own categories here in DA, but screenshots do not.
You know, why not make a post to the staff of DA and suggest a new category for you people? that way you could get your screenies posted and no one would give a crap about it, except those who really want to see them.
That's that and I really wasn't trying to flame you, altho I got pretty annoyed by you. Understand my point and I will at least try to understand yours.

I understand the pride an author takes in his original work. I would be furious if someone took one of my ideas without granting credit. Therefore I try to give credit where credit is due. I do not claim to be the original creator of the beast Magtheridon. I only claim to have aided in bringing him down. I also claim my fair part of the stories I have written about him, and hope that those who did design the encounters described can appreciated the work put into them.
As for raid experience, I have to be curious- care to link an Armory page (if that experience is WoW experience)?

that was my original intention. you took it as a personal insult. you are not the only one who gets these kinda posts from annoyed people.
and im not so selfish that i havent taken a look at your gallery. some of the people here are, but im not.
please just understand my point and refrain posting stuff that doesnt belong in DA or that violates the rules here. otherwise there will be more of assholes like me saying this to you.
