YES! My first full day of airsoft skirmishing! Tho the battles were mostly fruitless- I didn't get a kill all day, and my gun lost power twice- it was still fun. We even got rained out, and ironically, that was the best part for me- running from Matt's porch to the backyard fort to bring in all the gear, then seeing the beautiful sunset clouds afterward. I even got the full 'Nam effect when I trudged thru knee-deep water in an attempt to sneak up on the fort. Plus, rain-soaked camo makes for a great cooling system.
Tho I did meet a few of the more avid team members, we had a LOT of guests that day. A genuine Marine guy (who constantly nit-picked over the inaccuracies of airsoft) and a batch of ROTC guys later on (they were actually pretty cool), along with Chris, a 14-year-old guest who we nicknamed Shrub (he only came up to our chins; pretty cool kid as well).
The day went well once we got my gun to hold a connection, and we managed to get some good rounds in before nightfall. Turns out I suck just as bad as I feared I might, but no matter- Tyler gave/lent me his old load-bearing vest, and next week, they're gonna focus on getting me broken in and trained. Maybe we can get my pistol fixed too... it seems to have developed a nasty CO2 leak...
BTW, if anyone in the Pasco County area (or anyone in all) is interested, here's the link to the team's website- [link]
