Haha, dun worry, I ain't gonna start World War 3 here... unless the other countries agree to fight the war with all airsoft.
I went out with a friend from church (of all places) today, and we had a birthday party/airsoft skirmish in his buddy's big backyard. The SG552 I bought at Metrocon... well, it sucked compared to the CYMA and Tokyo Marui guns the other guys were wielding. Nevertheless, it was quite fun, sneakin' around in the overgrowth tryin to get a shot off. They also had a small two-story fort, complete with "blast shutters" on the windows and a small platform for sneaking out the back way or blasting at those underneath, and there were a couple of small foxholes dug out in the field.
The guys were pretty nice, too. Their group is named the Pasco Liberation Army (probably inspired by the People's Liberation Army of China, but for our home county instead), and they're a bunch of goofballs just like me- anime and gun nuts with good taste in games and movies. They seemed friendly enough, and were forgiving of my lack of good gear, full of tips for what I should upgrade to next.
It's something I'll definitely do again, but not with my current equipment. I test fired a much-higher quality SG552 and my friend from church's AK47- both had much greater range, precision, and firing rates, as well as more realistic heft and fittings.
My friend told me the wholesale site he got his stuff from,
